Overview
In this role you will lead a senior project accounting organization to drive financial performance across offshore and infrastructure projects.
You will shape accounting, reporting, and revenue processes in a complex, multi-site environment and partner with leadership to influence project profitability and client relationships.
You’ll oversee ERP changes, standardize collections, and coach a growing team to deliver timely, accurate project insights.

Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly project lists, AR, revenue, labor, and profitability reports for leadership and project staff
- Manage month-end revenue recognition and WIP reports
- Oversee collections processes with external resources
- Resolve complex project setups and billing issues with project staff
- Oversee billing schedules for timely invoicing
- Monitor cash receipts and resolve credits from overpayments
- Audit monthly billings vs project spending for revenue integrity
- Oversee consultant payables and weekly check runs
- Maintain billing tables and rate schedules
- Lead reviews with project staff on client accounts with collection or profitability issues
- Provide training on billing and project profit management
- Oversee ERP changes to improve contract, billing, collection, and reporting processes
- Support marketing surveys, audits, and tax filings
- Recruit, train, and motivate the project accounting team
- Direct the Project Accounting team in accordance with policies and laws
- Hire, assign, and evaluate staff; manage performance; address issues
- Identify process improvements and implement changes for business value
- Ask clarifying questions to increase understanding
- Show initiative and act promptly to meet objectives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve goals
- Enforce compliance with Mc Dermott policies and procedures
- Ensure mandatory training completion by teams
- Key requirements
- 15+ years of experience in oil and gas, EPCI, or construction
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting plus relevant certification (CA/ACCA/CPA)
- Experience with project-based organizations and project implementations
- Strong leadership, delegation, and coaching abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Organized, accurate, detail-oriented
- Advanced technical skills (Excel, Power Point, Power BI, Oracle, One Stream)
