The predicted salary is between 72000 - 108000 £ per year.

Mechanical design and analysis of assigned deliverables in a McDermott project including specific deliverables such as reactors, pressure vessels, columns, cold boxes, main cryogenic heat exchangers, plate-fin exchangers, air coolers and shell and tube heat exchangers. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work in a team setting within a dynamic and collaborative work environment.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Work includes conceptual studies, cost and planning studies, layouts, compiling equipment datasheet, design calculations, equipment specification development.
  • Developing requisitioning package in FEED/EPC phase, development of technical bid analysis and reviewing/supervising vendor packages for equipment and mechanical systems.
  • Effectively analyses, organizes, and executes work to successful completion.
  • Uses sound judgement and is adept at problem solving.
  • Coordinates Design Engineering activities with other engineering disciplines, client, third party and suppliers.
  • Conducts reviews of supplier documentation/deliverables including drawings and calculations.
  • Participates/organizes technical discussions with interested parties (client, suppliers, engineering disciplines, inspection authorities, etc).

Essential Experience Qualifications and Education

  • Minimum 15-20 years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering (Static bias) in oil, gas and/or petrochemical projects.
  • Bachelors’ Degree / Diploma / Technology in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Registered member or CEng status of IMechE.
  • Working knowledge of Pressure Vessel design software.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of design codes used in Pressure Vessel Design, such as ASME Section VIII Div1 & 2 codes, API 650/620, API 579.
  • Working knowledge of HTRI program to design/rate/selection of heat exchanger and air coolers serves as an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of TEMA and relevant API standards serves as an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge and experience as Static Equipment Specialist for refining and/or petrochemical end-user or EPFC Contractor.
  • Experience with LNG projects, specifically in cold box and MCHE.
  • Experience in preparation of inquiry packages, evaluating of quotes, bid tabulation, and the recommendation of supplier selection for static equipment.
  • Understands how Static Equipment Engineers work within a mechanical engineering department, as well as within a project team.
  • Understands, exemplifies, and communicates the core values of safety, ethics, teamwork and innovation.
  • Very good written and verbal communications skills.
  • Interacts with others in a professional manner, promoting cooperation and teamwork.
  • Is professional, courteous, and helpful while displaying confidence.
  • Good time management skills.
