We are seeking a highly motivated Tax Manager to support our growing operations across the Europe and Africa region. The position is based in London and reports directly to the International Tax Director (Houston, U.S.), with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the local Vice President of Finance (London). This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, global environment and play a key role in driving tax excellence across multiple jurisdictions.

About the Role

This role is responsible for executing tax strategies, advising on commercial tenders, ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations, and addressing both operational and technical tax challenges. The role serves as a key bridge between regional business operations and global tax leadership, ensuring that tax considerations are embedded in decision-making while maintaining alignment with corporate governance, risk management, and IPO readiness standards.

Responsibilities

  • Execute regional tax strategies aligned with global tax objectives
  • Provide tax support and advisory on bids, tenders, and commercial structuring
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable direct and indirect tax regulations across Europe and Africa region, including Transfer Pricing and Pillar 2 Obligations.
  • Manage tax audits, inquiries, and disputes with local tax authorities
  • Identify and mitigate tax risks while driving operational efficiencies
  • Partner with finance, legal, and commercial teams to support business initiatives
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess impact on the organization
  • Support tax reporting and USGAAP provision processes in coordination with global teams
  • Drive process improvements and contribute to ongoing tax transformation initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field; CPA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred
  • 7–10+ years of relevant tax experience (public accounting and/or multinational industry preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of corporate income tax, indirect tax, and cross-border transactions across Europe and Africa jurisdictions, including United Kingdom, Netherlands, Norway, Italy, Angola, Senegal, Mauritania, Mozambique, Nigeria, Egypt, and Uganda
  • Experience advising on tenders, contracts, and project-based environments is a strong plus
  • Proficiency in U.S. GAAP (ASC 740), including tax provision and financial reporting requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to manage tax audits and interact with tax authorities
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to operate independently while collaborating across global teams
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, execute, and deliver initiatives on time and within scope
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to drive change and lead process improvement initiatives
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong ability to research, analyze, and interpret complex tax issues
  • Experience with ONESOURCE Tax Provision (OTP) or similar tax provision systems preferred
  • Working knowledge of ERP and financial consolidation systems (e.g., JDE, HFM, or equivalent)
