The NO102 Single Point Delivery Team (SPDT) Senior Project Engineer (Sr. PE) is an operationally experienced project engineer responsible for applying their existing knowledge of Offshore Operations to serve as an Installation Lead for NO102 bids and projects.
The Sr. PE functionally reports to the SPDT Marine Operations Manager but works within project and bid teams as assigned. The Sr. PE interfaces with the Project Installation Managers, Supply Chain Managers, Project Engineering Managers, and other discipline leads to drive continual improvement through the implementation of Lessons Learned and ensure that the offshore installation scope is planned and executed in alignment with the NO102 capabilities, limitations, and project specifications.
The Sr. PE shall have a well-rounded and deep understanding of offshore SURF operations, installation analysis, subsea structure design, rigging practices, and the demonstrated project engineering capability to serve as a NO102 specific scope lead and oversee a smaller team of 1–3 Project Engineers. The individual shall be comfortable guiding and teaching junior engineers and have experience coordinating and driving the work of others to deliver the project scope on time and under budget.
The Sr. PE is expected to operate independently with minimal guidance from the SPDT Marine Operations Manager on a day-to-day basis, while maintaining regular communications and collaboration to align schedule and execution methodology. The Sr. PE is responsible for overall readiness and execution of the assigned scope, ensuring that all Lessons Learned are implemented on the bid/project as applicable, understanding and being accountable for delegated scope budgets, providing inputs into the schedule, maintaining overall execution awareness, and ensuring offshore performance targets are achieved.
The Sr. PE is a QHSES Leader for the NO102 team and reinforces this mindset across all team members. This role is office-based; periodic on-site field support (construction/supplier/mobilization sites and aboard the NO102) is required.
Responsibilities- Ensure that all work is carried out safely in compliance with QHSES Policies and Procedures.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the NO102 Installation Operations.
- Maintain awareness of the Project Contract Terms and Conditions throughout planning and execution; identify and manage Risks and Opportunities as applicable.
- Champion the Management of Change (MOC) process.
- Interface with the Offshore Construction Manager (OCM) and SPDT Marine Operations Manager to align installation methodology, procedures, and schedule for the project or bid.
- Provide technical review and approval of Installation Procedures and associated documentation.
- Collaborate with Structural, Installation Analysis, and Construction Support Engineering (CSE) functions to develop installation methodology and operational parameters.
- Provide Master Document Register (MDR) inputs and ensure all installation scope documentation is submitted, reviewed, and approved in accordance with planned dates.
- Provide Project Supply Chain Register (PSR) inputs and track progress to ensure all materials are ordered, delivered, and checked in advance of operations for the pipelay scope.
- Interface with Subcontractors and internal Subject Matter Experts.
- Interface with Client Representatives as it relates to NO102 operations.
- Lead Hazard Identification and Marine Readiness Review Meetings.
- Continuously review and implement Lessons Learned on all projects and bids.
- Identify and initiate Critical Capacity Review process and engage with SMEs for closeout, as applicable.
- Attend offshore campaign as required during the offshore campaign as the offshore lead.
- Support bid efforts by preparing PEP, packing checks (supported by VOE), installation guidance, and sequencing for the offshore operations, in support of the operations directors and estimating team.
- Spend 25% of time with other project offices in London, Houston, Rio de Janeiro, or mobilization sites as required for bid and project works.
- Undertake Offshore Rotations during Project Execution as assigned and in agreement with project CM.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Preferred: Master’s Degree.
- Professional Qualification and/or Regulatory, Licensing requirements: PE preferred.
- Marine Operations SURF experience (5–10 years).
- Offshore Experience (onboard deepwater SURF assets).
- Overall Subsea Industry Experience (5–12 years).
- Knowledgeable of pipelay and subsea construction methodology.
- Knowledgeable of industry standards and codes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Projects).
- Proficient in AutoCAD (Navisworks, Inventor, SolidWorks preferred).
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience working in multi-discipline teams.
