The DRVN Automotive Group is recruiting exclusively for a Group Financial Controller to join their dynamic team in Perth to work on the most exciting programmes announced to date.

The role will be responsible for overseeing the financial management, reporting and compliance of multiple companies within the group. The Group Financial Controller will lead the finance function, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting and strong financial governance across all entities. Working closely with the directors and operational leadership teams, the Group Financial Controller will provide financial insight to support strategic decision-making, operational efficiency and sustainable growth within a high-value manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts across multiple group entities, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow forecasts.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close processes across the group, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and file statutory accounts for all group companies in accordance with applicable UK accounting standards and Companies House requirements.
  • Prepare and/or oversee UK tax computations and returns across the group in accordance with HMRC legislation.
  • Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations and group consolidation processes.
  • Ensure robust financial controls and support external audit processes across all group entities.
  • Report on financial performance, liquidity, working capital and consolidated group performance to directors.

Manufacturing & Operational Finance:

  • Support financial oversight of production programmes across the group’s manufacturing operations.
  • Monitor WIP, inventory valuation and cost control across multiple operating entities.
  • Provide variance analysis across materials, labour and overheads to support operational decision-making.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes across group companies within a manufacturing environment.
  • Partner with operational and engineering teams to improve margin performance and cost efficiency across the group.

Systems & Controls:

  • Maintain and optimise Sage accounting systems across group companies to ensure consistent and accurate financial reporting.
  • Integrate financial reporting with Salesforce pipeline data to enhance revenue and cash forecasting across the group.
  • Ensure robust general ledger management, reconciliations and financial reporting processes across multiple entities.
  • Develop, implement and enforce consistent financial policies, procedures and internal controls across the group.
  • Reinforce data confidentiality, financial governance and ensure appropriate system backups and data protection controls.
  • Manage and develop a finance team of 8 (including payroll, AP and AR functions).
  • Ensure timely bank payment, treasury management and reconciliations across multiple entities.
  • Oversee audit preparation and financial compliance and reporting requirements across all group companies.
  • Support the development of finance staff and promote best practice financial management across the finance function.

Qualifications:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), or qualified by experience.
  • Significant experience in a senior finance role within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Experience overseeing financial management across multiple companies or group structures.
  • Hands-on experience with Sage accounting software.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookup functions, financial modelling).
  • Proven experience managing and developing a finance team.
