The McDermott Group, a leading group of companies based in Scotland, operates across many industries and sectors including Social Housing, Construction and Engineering. They are recruiting exclusively for a Quantity Surveyor.
Working within the heat networks business, the role is to plan, coordinate and manage programmes for the delivery of district heat network infrastructure, heating systems, Fire Protection and associated construction and improvement work.
You will be responsible for:
- Controlling and reporting on company expenditure from procurement to accounts
- Monitoring and controlling expenditure on projects/developments
- Controlling the cost of sales
- Ensuring that all Commercial policies and procedures are adhered to
- Procurement, programme preparation, budgets, payments, cost value reconciliations
Additional responsibilities include:
- Preparing tender analysis, comparing individual tenders against each other, previous developments, and budget
- Preparing customer extras schedule for the Commercial Director
- Pricing ‘customer extras’ schedule with sub-contractors
- Analysing sub-contractor invoices/applications
- Preparing interim payments for approval by the Commercial Director
- Producing Valuation Breakdown Reconciliation
- Assisting in carrying out cost and value reconciliation on all items
- Attending site-based project meetings and verifying contractor claims
- Ensuring familiarity with HSEQ policies and complying with employee responsibilities
- Complying with company policies, procedures, and instructions at all times
Requirements:
- 5 years of experience within Quantity Surveyor role
- Qualified to level of HNC in a construction-related course or equivalent
- CSCS
- Clean Driving Licence (the successful candidate must be willing to travel throughout Scotland)
- Must have IDLR/Full Rights to Work in UK - Sponsorship or Work Permits will not be accepted/provided
- Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK at the time of application. Right-to-work checks will be carried out in accordance with Home Office requirements.
Holidays: 30 days. Pension. Travel across Scotland will be required.
