At McDermotts, we’re seeking an experienced Transport Compliance Administrator to join our dynamic civil Plant team, specialising in groundworks and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Administration within the construction sector, with proven experience working with Fleet & Transport.

Main Responsibilities

  • Asset & Vehicle Compliance: Maintain the central asset register and upload all vehicle records, MOTs, service schedules, and statutory inspections.
  • Driver Records: Audit tachograph data, monitor driver hours, and flag infringements against UK road haulage regulations.
  • Defect Management: Track daily vehicle defect reports and liaise with the workshop team to monitor repair progress.
  • Supplier Coordination: Chase third-party maintenance providers for missing paperwork, invoices, and vehicle release times.
  • Fleet Support: Process vehicle taxation, SORN documentation, insurance claims, and traffic violations.
  • Dealing with speeding, road accidents, etc.
  • Fleet telematic reports – speeding, idling, etc.
  • Any other admin tasks to support a fleet & Fleet Manager.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in Administration.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft packages, e.g., Excel & Word.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Driving Licence.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Proven experience in all aspects of Transport & Compliance.
  • Experience producing and managing spreadsheets.
  • Proven track record of delivering to a tight programme.
  • Up to date knowledge of compliance and industry requirements (e.g., health & safety).
  • Full driving licence.
