MCD Ground Solutions is an industry leading support services company, providing the geo-environmental consultancy sector with grass roots support services. We undertake drilling, in-situ testing, technical labour, sampling and monitoring services throughout the UK. We are regularly looking for drillers to be a permanent member of the MCD team in Portsmouth.
We are looking for competent, hard-working individuals who enjoy working in an outdoor environment on sites across the UK. We want individuals who are eager to learn new skills to be able to use geotechnical drilling equipment and who are happy to work in a fast-paced, ever-growing industry. They will be joining our small team of friendly and enthusiastic technicians.
Duties and Responsibilities
Our drillers will be working on various outdoor sites identified for future development, currently being developed or other environments such as road and rail. They will be working as part of a team and reporting to the Operations Manager, who will also provide guidance and training. As an addition to Drilling, other main duties and responsibilities will include on-site ground investigations, including:
- Hand dug excavations.
- Foundation/utility inspection pits.
- Taking soil and aggregate samples and labelling.
Minimum Requirements
Must have:
- CSCS
- NVQ in Land Drilling (Not required but would be beneficial)
- Full UK Driving License
We are looking for individuals with good communication skills (written and verbal); who can work well as part of a team and independently in an outdoor environment; have a positive attitude to health and safety, and who are reliable, punctual, enthusiastic and self-motivated. Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK and have a full manual UK driving license. There will be occasions when work dictates working around the country so working away from home will be essential.
