We are seeking a highly motivated and meticulous Finance Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be the backbone of our daily financial operations. This dual-impact role involves managing the full cycle of purchase and sales transactions while acting as the central coordinator for company travel. You will ensure our financial records are impeccable, our suppliers are paid on time, and our team’s travel is seamless and compliant.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable: Process purchase invoices, raise purchase orders, and serve as the primary point of contact for supplier queries and payment schedules.
- Accounts Receivable: Raise sales invoices and credit notes; accurately allocate payments and receipts to customer and supplier accounts.
- Credit Control: Manage and support credit control activities to ensure healthy cash flow.
- Month-End Support: Complete cut-off processes in line with departmental deadlines and maintain highly organised financial documentation.
- Compliance: Submit all processed receipts to the C&F team for final review and approval.
- Travel & Expense Management
- Travel Coordination: Act as the central hub for internal travel logistics, including booking flights, trains, and accommodation for stakeholders.
- Expense Auditing: Review employee expense claims to ensure they are fully supported by receipts and strictly adhere to the company travel policy.
- Policy Oversight: Proactively guide staff on travel policy to ensure compliance and timely submission for month-end deadlines.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience: Previous experience in an accounts assistant or finance support role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, or SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
- Attention to Detail: A high level of accuracy in data entry and auditing.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills for liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Organisational Skills: The ability to juggle financial deadlines with real-time travel booking requests.
- Proficient in G-Suite and SAGE.
