McCue is seeking a Product Development Engineer to join our team at our Milton Keynes UK location. The Product Development Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of innovative products that will continue to grow McCue’s business. This position will play a key role in the McCue product development team and will require a self-motivated, creative, and detail-oriented team member.
Key Results
- Develop and launch innovative products with leading functionality, compelling value, and strong aesthetics.
- Enhance and improve existing product lines, creating line extensions and custom applications to reduce production costs and increase functionality.
- Provide engineering support and expertise to customers, sales, and operations teams for new and existing products.
- Ensure the quality and consistency of products through detailed drawings, specifications, and engineering change notices.
- Effectively manage and complete projects within the designated timelines and budgets.
Key Activities
- Design, prototype, and test new products to ensure they meet functional and aesthetic standards.
- Improve and optimize existing products, focusing on cost reduction and enhanced functionality.
- Create detailed engineering drawings and specifications for production and customer documentation.
- Build, assemble, and evaluate prototypes to validate designs before production investments.
- Partner with suppliers to deliver ready-for-manufacturing designs on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development and problem-solving efforts.
- Travel to customer sites and supplier meetings as technical engineering support for new product development.

Working Hours
Normal working hours are 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.
Reporting Structure and Location
Reports to: Product Development Manager
Work Arrangement: This is an on-site role based in Milton Keynes. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance, defined as up to approximately 1 hour travel time to the office.
Travel: International travel expected as part of the role (estimated 25%-30%).
