Overview of the Employer A family run business trading for over 25 years, McCrory provides Design & Build Principal Contractor construction services for prestige clients in the Energy, Transport & Utilities Infrastructure sectors in England. UK clients in the last 10 years include Network Rail, Eurotunnel, National Grid and Affinity Water.
Overview of Role This role will have a wide variety of activities, and no two days will be the same. The successful candidate will be primarily based in Folkestone, Kent, operating & driving crane mounted HGV’s (44T+ & 7.5T), in particular a 6×2 tractor unit with a 75 Ton mounted crane. These assets will be servicing a busy construction site and most journeys will be local, within a 30 mile radius with infrequent trips to South East London and extremely infrequent (once or twice a year) trips to Ireland. Candidates will also infrequently support construction site staff on the operation of any other plant & equipment onsite that the candidate may be competent and qualified to operate.

Employment Type Full time hours. Initial Engagement will be on a trial, temporary basis and a probationary period will apply. The role will develop into a long term, permanent posting for the right individual.
Key Roles and Responsibilities Key Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Loading and unloading various types of building materials, plant & equipment for a busy construction site with multiple workfaces. Shunting flatbed trailers to service site operations as and when required. Securing of loads using chains and straps where appropriate. Standalone cranage associated with site operations, such as concrete pours using craned concrete skips. Collection of materials, plant & equipment and welfare cabins from supplier yards across south east England.
Additional & Shared Roles and Responsibilities Liaising with colleagues, contributing as required, complying with company policy, health & safety good practice and supporting safe work practices.If competent and qualified, contingency operation of other items of plant on an infrequent basis.
Essential Skills & Qualifications Over 25 (Motor Insurance requirement)Current in-date full clean (3 points or less) UK/EU Driving Licence with Categories: C1, C1E, C & CE.
Current in-date Driver CPC Card.
Current in-date CPCS / CSR / NPORS ticket for Lorry Loader.
Current in-date CPCS / CSR / NPORS ticket for Telescopic Handler.
Current in-date passport with at least six months to expiry.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role with an interest in infrastructure.
Good Health – Network Rail (ML1) Medical may be conducted.
Desirable Skills, Qualifications and Characteristics Current in-date CSCS UK H&S Test for Operatives. Current in-date CPCS / CSR / NPORS ticket for Counterbalance Forklift. Any other current in-date CPCS / CSR / NPORS ticket for various plant. Effective while working in a team, contributing to a common goal. Demonstrate good communicative skills and a health attitude to health & safety.
Other Additional Information Access NI / DBS Checks will be conducted. Right to work in the UK. Commencement as soon as possible. Digital Tachograph Card required.
