As a result of securing new contracts, McCrae Training is looking for a Sales Executive to join our expanding team.
Main Purpose of Role
We’re looking for a commercially driven Sales Executive to join our sales team, to work closely with the Business Development Manager, driving commercial profitability and growth across our extensive portfolio of Utility and Construction Sector training programmes and client-specific courses. This is a very hands-on sales role for someone who enjoys meeting clients on a frequent face-to-face basis creating and maintaining lasting relationships, building a comprehensive sales pipeline, prospecting new business leads, key account managing current client business, whilst taking full ownership to meet and exceed targets and KPIs.
The Role
The ideal candidate is required to generate and convert sales opportunities, maximise profitability, and grow revenue across new and existing clients while operating against structured and measurable KPIs. Accountable for their pipeline from first contact through to confirmed booking, ensuring an excellent client experience whilst maintaining an accurate CRM system.
Key Responsibilities
- Key account manages multiple client accounts via highly effective client service management; meeting client contacts face to face and via MS Teams on a structured and frequent basis.
- Actively manage and build the sales pipeline to deliver monthly profit, revenue, occupancy, and conversion targets (lead to sale).
- Generate new business through outbound prospecting, cold calling, and re-engaging dormant accounts as part of a Win Back Strategy.
- Convert inbound enquiries and leads into profitable confirmed bookings.
- Manage allocated client accounts, identifying repeat business and upsell opportunities across the training portfolio.
- Own the end-to-end sales process: from enquiry → quote → close the lead → to booking → invoiced → joining instructions issued.
- Work closely with the Business Development Manager to prioritise high-value opportunities and strategic accounts.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, ensuring pipeline stages, forecasts, and client data are continually kept up to date.
- Track and report sales activity and performance against agreed KPIs (profit, occupancy, conversion, run rate).
- Collaborate with wider sales and operations teams to ensure training programmes always run profitably and commercially viable.
- Proactively manage client communication, including handling changes, delays, or issues professionally.

Requirements
- 3 years’ B2B sales experience (inside sales, account management, or sales executive role)
- Proven ability to generate business through outbound calling
- Experience using CRM systems to manage pipeline and forecast sales
- Commercial mindset with a focus on closing sales (conversion), not just quoting
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a wider sales team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
