We are looking for an experienced and highly competent 5 years plus PQE Employment Law Solicitor, to head up our Team. This is a unique opportunity to work for a high-profile law firm specialising in a number of areas of law, including Sports Law.

We act for some significant companies and organisations including sports organisations across England, including the Premier League, Professional Game Match Officials Ltd, the Premier League Charitable Fund, Harrogate International Festivals, Yorkshire Agricultural Society, Rudding Park, Redline Specialist Cars and several football clubs at all levels of the game.

The types of work handled include:

  • Providing commercial result driven legal advice on day-to-day employment issues (both contentious and non-contentious);
  • HR Support;
  • Employment disputes and tribunal representation;
  • Settlement Agreements;
  • Director’s Service Agreements;
  • Contracts and Handbooks;
  • TUPE – and support to our Corporate Team;
  • Mediation and workplace Mediation;
  • Independent investigations;
  • Training and seminars;
  • Restrictive covenant advice;

About you:

The ideal candidate will have the ability to provide excellent service to current clients, generate new clients and deal with complex cases. We are looking for somebody who has commercial awareness and the ability to calculate risk when advising on a wide range of employment related issues. You must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • A broad experience of Employment Law.
  • Experience of drafting pleadings, witness statements and other documentation necessary for the conduct of Employment Tribunal claims.
  • Experience in negotiating employment settlements for both employer and employee.
  • Experience of drafting employment contracts, policies and procedures and other employment related documentation.
  • Ability to work to deadlines / targets, to prioritise and manage a caseload and deliver effective solutions.
  • You will be expected to provide high-quality legal advice, liaise with clients effectively, draft legal documents, and represent clients where necessary.
  • You will be confident and able to work on your own initiative.
  • Self-starter and proactive individual able to manage their own casework.
  • Excellent attention to detail in managing complex cases.
  • A commitment to upholding the highest ethical and professional standards.
  • Strong ability to manage a diverse caseload independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive, client-focused approach.
