The Social Media Content Manager is responsible for setting the overall strategic framework of how McCormick brands come to life across social media channels. They oversee all paid and organic content, input on critical partnerships, and work with multiple cross-functional teams to drive the business.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • SOCIAL MEDIA STRATEGY: Build overarching social media strategy for relevant brands. The strategy should solve for how we drive deeper consumer engagement and 1:1 connections taking into account emerging channels, cultural trends, and content insights.
  • PAID MEDIA & CAMPAIGNS: Work alongside creative account team & PR team to drive the content plan for all paid social media tactics and PR programs. Ensure creative is based on insights and key learnings. Traffic all paid social media assets to media agency to meet campaign deadlines.
  • SOCIAL CONTENT DEVELOPMENT: Lead process of new social media content development for new products, new social trends, and content gaps. Organize cross-functional brainstorms when necessary, and work in partnership with internal content team and agencies to develop best-in-class content. Attend pre-production meetings and photoshoots to ensure all content is aligning to social best practices and brand tone of voice. Also leads quarterly content brainstorms with internal content team to drive new creative ideas on a regular basis.
  • SOCIAL EDITORIAL PROCESS: Oversee monthly social media content planning process to support business objectives for assigned brands. Ensures all social posts (both assets and copy) meet social best practices, aligns with established Brand Tone of Voice, and is consistent with business priorities.
  • COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT: Responsible for developing the organic content plan, publishing all content, and managing 1:1 community response through social media.
  • ANALYTICS AND REPORTING: Execute reporting on a quarterly basis, pulling insights such as average engagement rate, total impressions and total follower growth across all brands and platforms. Develop ongoing project-specific recaps for Senior leadership.
  • TRENDS: Stay up-to-day on current industry trends and social media platform capabilities, recommending new, innovative ways to connect with our consumers through social media.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Media, Marketing, or Communications field
  • Relevant work experience or related internships.
  • Strategic, Detail-oriented, deadline driven, and able to handle a high-volume workload
  • Experience working with many cross-functional team members across the organization
  • Experience with management
  • Strong knowledge of native social insights tools (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.) and is able to adapt easily with platform changes. -Willingness to react and respond in a timely manner
  • Keeps up-to-date with industry trends and new platform innovations.
  • Experience working with multiple brands with unique styles and tones of voice we be an asset
  • Creative background in animated GIFS & social graphics (beginner level in photoshop and other adobe products) would be an asset
  • Familiar with social management and monitoring tools (Hootsuite, Curalate, Crimson Hexagon, etc.) would be an asset
  • Knowledge of paid social analytics tools (Facebook Ads Manager, Pinterest Ads Manager, etc.) would be an asset
  • Cooking experience/food and ingredient knowledge would be an asset
