The Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating production equipment to ensure products are manufactured, blended, and packed in accordance with company recipes, specifications, and operational standards. The role includes operating automated and non-automated equipment, completing SAP transactions, performing quality checks, maintaining housekeeping standards, and ensuring full compliance with HACCP, GMP, and Health & Safety requirements. The Operator plays a key role in maintaining line performance, product quality, and effective shift communication to support continuous production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow all safety operating procedures and work within safe systems of work at all times.
- Adhere to all recipes, work instructions, and procedures in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Accurately dispense and weigh raw ingredients in accordance with production recipes.
- Set up, operate, and monitor automated and non-automated production lines and associated equipment.
- Ensure production lines operate at required performance and efficiency levels.
- Complete product changeovers and ensure cleaning activities are carried out effectively and efficiently.
- Strip, clean, and reassemble equipment in line with hygiene and food safety standards.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness within the factory at all times.
- Carry out in-process quality checks and continuously monitor product quality to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Ensure full compliance with Company Quality, Food Safety (HACCP), and Health & Safety requirements.
- Accurately complete all required documentation in a timely manner.
- Carry out transactions in SAP and other company systems to ensure accurate material and stock control.
- Identify, fault find, and report equipment issues or breakdowns promptly.
- Conduct clear and effective shift handovers, both verbally and in writing, ensuring operational continuity.
- Support and assist with training of colleagues as required.
- Maintain a flexible approach to work and undertake alternative duties when required to support business needs.
- Project support and interaction.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Provide support to other production areas as required.
- Assist with break cover across lines.
- Wash totes and associated equipment.
- Ensure production areas remain clean, organised, and audit ready.

- Experience: Previous experience within a manufacturing or factory environment is preferred.
- Skills and Competencies: Strong understanding of production operations and safety procedures. High level of attention to detail. Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team. Positive and enthusiastic attitude with a willingness to learn. Reliable and trustworthy. Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and moving materials and standing for extended periods (however training will be provided).
