McCormick UK is seeking an experienced and commercially driven R D Senior Technologist to develop commercially viable products from concept through to launch for key QSR customers. This role supports the EMEA strategy by delivering NPD and regeneration projects in a proactive, customer-facing capacity, while acting as a spokesperson for R D in cross-functional environments.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a portfolio of NPD and regeneration projects from concept to launch, delivering sales growth.
- Develop new products (including duplications) aligned to customer briefs and business strategy.
- Deliver right first time solutions through strong technical and commercial awareness of ingredients, processes, and customer requirements.
- Represent R D in customer meetings, presentations, trials, and project updates, building strong customer relationships.
- Lead and support factory trials, ensuring successful scale-up and launch.
- Provide technical support to Operations, Logistics, and Purchasing for cost optimisation and quality improvement initiatives.
- Engage with suppliers and external partners to leverage new ingredients and technologies.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and coaching to a Technologist and contribute to team capability development.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Degree in Food Science or related discipline.
- Relevant product development experience in sauces, dressings, condiments, or similar.
- B2B and QSR experience essential.
- Strong understanding of the development process, including factory trials and scale-up.
- Commercially aware, able to link technical decisions to cost and business impact.
- Effective cross-functional collaborator with strong project management skills.
- Team management experience is an asset, or experience leading through influence.
- Confident, proactive, detail-oriented, and able to perform under pressure.
