Production Operative / Senior Production Operative
Mc Cormick is hiring for Production Operatives and Senior Production Operatives at Mc Cormick, Haddenham site.
You may be considered for either role depending on your skills and experience.
- Production Operative: suitable for candidates with little or no previous machine operating experience. Full training can be provided.
- Senior Production Operative: suitable for candidates with previous production/operator experience, ideally including line leader or supervisory experience.
The final role level will be based on your skills, experience and suitability for the role.
Opportunities are available on rotating day shifts (Mon-Fri, weekly rotation of 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm) or permanent night shifts (Mon-Fri, 10pm-6a).
About the Role
You will safely and efficiently operate production equipment to manufacture, blend and pack products in line with company recipes, specifications and operational standards.
You will help maintain product quality, line performance, accurate documentation and compliance with food safety, quality and Health & Safety requirements.
- Main Responsibilities
- Operate, set up and monitor automated and non-automated production lines and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow recipes, work instructions, GMP standards and safe systems of work.
- Accurately weigh, dispense and handle raw ingredients in line with production requirements.
- Carry out product changeovers, cleaning, equipment strip-down and reassembly to required hygiene and food safety standards.
- Perform in-process quality checks and monitor product quality.
- Complete required documentation and SAP/system transactions accurately and on time.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, cleanliness, HACCP, food safety, quality and Health & Safety compliance.
- Identify and report equipment issues.
- Support effective shift handovers and communication across the team.
- Assist with colleague training and work flexibly to support business needs.
- Candidate Profile
We are looking for candidates who are reliable, motivated and willing to work in a fast-paced production environment.
You should have

- Previous experience in a manufacturing, factory, warehouse or food production environment is desirable but not essential.
- FLT and PPT licences are desirable, although training can be provided.
Additional experience that would be beneficial for Senior Production Operative consideration:
- Previous experience operating production machinery or working as a Production Operator.
- Experience in a Line Leader, Senior Operator, Lead Operator or similar role.
- Experience supporting, training or guiding colleagues.
- Good understanding of production operations, GMP, HACCP, food safety, quality and Health & Safety standards.
- Confidence supporting shift handovers, line performance and day-to-day production activities.
