About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Manager, Customer Quality to join our Australian Quality team. Reporting to the Director Quality Assurance, this role serves as the key technical quality and food safety link between McCormick and our customers. You will provide expert guidance on customer quality requirements, food safety expectations, product compliance, issue resolution and continuous improvement initiatives, while helping drive customer confidence and business growth. You will also play a leading role in Quality and Food Safety Culture for our organization, engaging with Customers on our Culture Program.

This is a highly visible role that partners closely with Commercial, R&D, Regulatory, Operations, Supply Chain and Procurement teams to deliver successful outcomes for customers and the business. The position also includes leadership responsibility for one direct report.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the primary technical, quality and food safety contact for assigned customers.
  • Building trusted customer relationships and representing McCormick in technical, quality and audit discussions.
  • Leading quality and food safety support for new product development, product changes and customer-specific projects.
  • Managing customer quality incidents, investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Supporting product launches and ensuring customer requirements are effectively translated into internal deliverables.
  • Monitoring customer quality performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Driving a strong food safety and quality culture across the business.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally to improve speed to market, simplify processes and support customer growth.

The Ideal Candidate

You are a proactive quality professional who combines strong technical expertise with excellent stakeholder management and leadership capability. To be successful, you will bring:

  • A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Quality Management, Microbiology, Chemistry or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years' experience in quality, food safety, customer quality, technical, regulatory, product development or related roles within food, beverage, ingredient, flavour, FMCG or manufacturing industries.
  • Experience supporting customers through technical quality requirements, product launches, complaint management and issue resolution.
  • Sound knowledge of food safety and quality systems including HACCP, GMP, allergen management, traceability and quality risk management.
  • Experience conducting investigations, root cause analysis and CAPA management.
  • Strong project management and cross-functional stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical information for a variety of audiences.
  • Strong influencing and leadership capabilities, with experience leading through collaboration and building trusted relationships.
  • HACCP knowledge, Lead Auditor, Internal Auditor, BRCGS, SQF, FSSC 22000 or related certifications highly regarded.
