MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reporting into the EMEA Growth Platforms Director, you will work as regional lead for the Herbs, Spices and Seasonings strategy across our EMEA business; leading the development and shape of our 3 year strategy for the product pipeline across both renovation and innovation.
- Working closely with the Local Marketing teams you will identify growth opportunities to implement with the cross-functional teams including Commercialisation, Insights, Graphics Design, R&D, Supply Chain and Culinary, as well as external agencies when needed, to deliver scalable, winning plans to drive McCormick Sales, Share & profitability.
Insights & Analytics:
- Leveraging ongoing business analytics to monitor Category & NPD performance across the EMEA region.
- Ongoing consumer trends & research, you will be the consumer insights expert for your dedicated focus areas.
- Working closely with our Insights & Analytics team you will turn datapoints and research into insights and insights into actions, to identify category innovation and renovation opportunities across the EMEA region.
- Support NPD & renovation post evaluations with actionable insights & build learnings into future plans.
- Build and deliver regular business presentations to key stakeholders and senior leaders across local markets, the regional and global teams.
Strategy & Plans:
- Lead the Development of the 3 year strategy for Herbs, Spices and Seasonings, using this to shape the product pipeline & activation plan for your areas & input into the annual EMEA regional brand plans.
- Lead the development & delivery of innovation and renovation through all stage Gates, gaining continued stakeholder alignment as you do so, whilst working with key functions from ideation through to execution & Go to Market.
- Input into the preparation of Quarterly Global Innovation Updates to Senior Leadership teams.
- Support our sustainability roadmap to deliver against our goals.
- Act as key regional lead for your portfolio, liaising with wider global teams where relevant.
Commercial:
- Accountable for the delivery of agreed innovation targets with P&L responsibility.
- Contribute to the product life cycle management, driving efficiencies through simplification.
- Partner closely with category management, sales and omnichannel representatives across markets to define optimum channel strategies.
Team and personal leadership:
- Manage team of two experienced direct reports; empowering them to lead and drive their areas of responsibility and get the best out of them.
- Manage workload and priorities for overall team and balancing resources where/if needed.
- Balance short term priorities with longer term deliverables.
- Demonstrate active listening and collaboration with key stakeholders across the business and ultimately determining the right action plans; influencing teams where needed to bring them on board with the priorities and plans.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Proven track record: successful experience working within FMCG Innovation & Brand-Building at the relevant level.
- Strong experience in line management: supporting and empowering your team to grow and develop.
- Curious, data-driven & analytical: you will excel working with the likes of Nielsen, Kantar, Google Trends and Ad hoc research to perform analysis & turn insights into actions.
- Full mix marketing: Ideally someone with experience beyond Innovation and Renovation; meaning they are able to understand the overall picture and influence of the various marketing levers and the role I&R can play within this.
- Consumer-Centric: you will naturally place the consumer at the heart of everything you do & will excel at driving insight from market research & trends data, be comfortable working with a variety of research methodologies and a multitude of agencies.
- Expertise in NPD and renovation: Excellence in NPD development, execution & portfolio management, influencing and collaborating to drive what’s needed to grow against a clear category vision.
- A sense of ownership: you’ll see your area as your own business & love to roll up your sleeves & get stuck into building & leading your platform & brands growth.
- Prioritisation: Strong project leadership experience of managing multiple projects & strong ability to prioritise when and where needed.
