The Commercial Finance Business Partner plays a critical role in driving growth and profitability for the UK Consumer business. Acting as a strategic partner to Commercial and Marketing teams, this role owns the Revenue P&L and provides actionable financial insights to support decision-making, margin enhancement, and sustainable business performance. This position combines strong financial stewardship with proactive business partnering to influence commercial strategy, customer negotiations, pricing, promotional effectiveness, and new product development.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full Revenue P&L for the UK Consumer business, providing end-to-end financial oversight and insight.
  • Partner closely with Commercial and Marketing teams to support decision-making through clear financial analysis and performance evaluation.
  • Lead finance support for Joint Business Plan (JBP) negotiations, customer tenders, and local NPD projects, ensuring profitability targets are met.
  • Own trade accrual balance sheet management, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance.
  • Deliver analysis on key financial performance drivers, identifying risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Support ongoing O&R processes, including analysis of volume, pricing, and trade spend.
  • Provide financial guidance on strategic commercial initiatives to enable profitable growth.
  • Design and deliver commercial finance training to enhance business capability in pricing, margin management, and promotional effectiveness.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships across Finance, Commercial, Marketing, and Supply Chain to enable collaboration and performance delivery.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of commercial finance reports and business intelligence to stakeholders.
  • Support month-end close activities, quarterly forecasts, and annual budgeting processes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of enhanced reporting tools and performance dashboards.
  • Continuously improve commercial finance processes, controls, and reporting frameworks.
  • Ensure full documentation of processes and adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Part-qualified or newly qualified professional certification (ACCA, CIMA, MBA) preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in finance and business management, including business partnering with Commercial, Marketing, or Supply Chain functions.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A).
  • Strong knowledge of P&L and Balance Sheet management, with demonstrated expertise in financial planning, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Proven experience analyzing sales trends, volume/revenue forecasting, and translating financial data into actionable business insights.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders across levels through constructive challenge and collaborative engagement.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly articulate financial insights to non-finance audiences.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and capable of driving initiatives independently while maintaining high standards of accuracy and accountability.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and build trusted relationships across functions.
