We are seeking an electrical and mechanical maintenance engineer, on shift. You will be monitoring a wide variety of plant and equipment, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance of plant and provide supervision of specialist contractors.
Responsibilities
- Operational
- Direct engineering resource to ensure that preventative maintenance schedules and systems are completed in line with system timeframes, whilst continually reviewing their effectiveness.
- To ensure that plant changeovers are carried out promptly, with measured efficiency.
- To ensure that parts are available and are always in good working order.
- To respond swiftly and effectively to breakdown and emergency situations, making effective use of all resource.
- Health & Safety
- To make the workplace a safe environment by ensuring: All company and legal requirements are met and maintained.
- Safety equipment is properly maintained, checked, and recorded.
- Safe working practices are always promoted with all checks and job signoffs completed.
- Quality
- To ensure all Quality Management Systems are adhered to and properly documented.
- To work with Production and Quality teams to improve and develop operating practices which enhance product quality and customer service.
- Ensure full compliance with Company Quality, Food Safety, Health & Safety and Environmental requirements.
- To assist with the integration of new equipment with the manufacturing, operations, and project teams.
Candidate Profile
- A recognised engineering apprenticeship qualification, Level 3 engineering qualification or equivalent is beneficial.
- Other appropriate experience or qualifications in a related field of manufacturing is advantageous.
- Experience within a high-volume manufacturing maintenance environment is seen as an asset.
- Strong general mechanical and/or electrical engineering skills and knowledge.
- A logical thinker and problems solver with a positive and proactive mindset to problem resolution and energy to ‘get things done’.
- Experienced in food, or consumer products industry is seen as an asset.
- An awareness of HACCP, PUWER, LOLA and COSHH.
- Good communication skills – ability to effectively communicate with both suppliers and internal customers.
