Our client assists water companies across the UK to collect data on non-domestic properties to enable accurate billing. Due to a period of ongoing expansion, they are now seeking self-motivated Meter Investigators across the UK. Full training will be given so previous experience is not essential.

What does a Meter Investigator do?

You will be responsible for locating and inspecting 'lost' water meters which are housed in meter chambers or within specific enclosures or buildings. You will be required to accurately find, clean and photograph commercial water meter details within a geographical region using mobile technologies. Additionally, there is a requirement to efficiently research, plan and execute daily workloads to meet business demands.

Ideal candidate

  • You will have a good awareness of Health & Safety - both for yourself and the public.
  • Access to a reliable home internet system and good IT skills.
  • As the face of the company, you will be smart, professional and courteous.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Experience of time management and route planning would be an advantage.

Anything else?

  • You will require a full and valid UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
  • Use of a suitable vehicle with business insurance and a current MOT.
  • Part of your role will involve lifting heavy manhole covers, so you will need a level of physical fitness and you won’t mind getting dirty.
  • A basic Disclosure check will be required.
