Criminal Advocate / Duty Solicitor – Liverpool
I’m supporting a busy and growing criminal defence team in Liverpool who are looking to appoint an experienced Criminal Advocate/Duty Solicitor. This is a full‑time role offering strong professional development within a fast‑paced environment. Part‑time candidates will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Representing clients detained at police stations
- Managing a varied caseload across the full range of criminal offences
- Conducting advocacy in the Magistrates’ Court, including summary trials
Candidate Profile
- Solicitor with 1+ year PQE in criminal matters
- Criminal Litigation Accreditation preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong advocacy and communication skills
- Confident managing a demanding caseload with minimal supervision
- Professional, pragmatic, and calm under pressure
- Passion for publicly funded criminal defence work
- Excellent attention to detail and strong team‑working skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
