We are looking for an experienced Client Advisor to join our Commercial Team to provide quality service and advice to our commercial clients. You will assess clients' insurance needs and source suitable insurance policies and solutions in line with FCA and company guidelines. This will involve securing new business, handling mid-term adjustments and renewals, both in support of Client Executives and independently. We work with numerous different types of businesses from those in manufacturing, logistics and contracting to those operating in retail, hospitality and business services, to name just a few! Experience in commercial insurance is preferred for this role.

To develop your knowledge of the sector and be able to contribute to the effectiveness of service, products, procedures and efficiency of the company.

Responsibility for the technical administration of all classes of insurance policies within the commercial and business sector. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Technically administering new business, renewals, mid-term adjustments, queries, premium financing arrangements, broking risks to insurers, and collecting payments.
  • Utilising technical knowledge to support colleagues and deliver good outcomes for clients.
  • Executing any business quickly and accurately, working on behalf of the client and liaising with insurers, keeping the client informed and updated at all stages of the client journey.
  • Actively look for and act on cross-selling and up-selling opportunities in respect of insurance broking business to enhance the company’s offering to clients.

Skills needed to succeed as a Commercial Client Advisor:

  • Experience working within a regulatory framework or FCA compliance.
  • Experience working within the General Insurance sector (1 year minimum).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Customer Service Experience.
  • Ability to build mutually beneficial relationships with both colleagues and clients.
  • Self-motivation, drive and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Values are in line with McClarrons’ Core Values.

Helpful skills to succeed as a Commercial Client Advisor:

  • Working knowledge of the commercial and business sector.
  • Business or financial-related degree or qualification(s).
  • CII or other relevant qualifications.
  • Experience with Acturis.

Location: This role is available at our Hull or Malton offices. At Malton, our newly-refurbished office is based just out of town with easy access to amenities and public transport, with free on-site parking for staff.
