The role
We're looking for an individual to provide quality service and claims advice to clients in their time of need. The role will involve undertaking the case management of insurance claims made by clients in line with FCA and Company guidelines. The Claims Advisor will proactively manage claims with the aim of achieving high levels of satisfaction for both client and insurer; they will build client relations through high quality claim management, resolution and excellent client service. The role involves providing expert advice not only to clients but also within other areas of the business. The core of the role involves understanding and advising on a client's claim, understanding their cover and communicating effectively around how it can respond to their claim, providing support and reassurance throughout the process. This role will also involve working with insurers and third parties such as loss adjustors, to assess and progress clients' claims as efficiently as possible.
Claims Advisor job details:
- Responsibility for the case management of all classes of claims
- Duties include, but are not limited to, taking first notification from the client, issuing claims forms, validating the claim against the policy coverage, liaising with insurers, loss adjustors and uninsured loss recovery companies, providing customers with advice on mitigating their loss and how their policy may react, informing customers how their policy premiums may be affected by their claim
- Utilising technical knowledge to support colleagues and deliver outcomes for clients
- Identifying suspicious, complex or high value claims and raising these with management
- Following procedures for the quick resolution of claims to an accurate and high standard, working on behalf of the client and liaising with insurers as appropriate, keeping the client informed and updated at all stages
- Handle any complaints in accordance with regulation, the Company's Conduct Policy and Guide to Best Practice
- Provide input and expertise to improve our client journey, demonstrating technical proficiency and efficiency
- Provide input into projects and business development

- Basic computer literacy & numeracy skills
- Ability to build mutually beneficial relationships with both colleagues and clients

Helpful skills to succeed as a Claims Advisor:
- Business or financial-related degree or qualification(s)
- Experience working within a regulatory framework or FCA compliance
- Wide social interests
- CII or other relevant qualifications
- Insurance Claims Handling experience
- Customer Service experience
- Experience with Acturis

This role is available at our Malton office; our newly-refurbished office is based just out of town with easy access to amenities and public transport, with free on-site parking for staff.
