We are looking for bank staff to support adults with learning disabilities in their homes and in the community across Maidstone & Medway.
In this role, you will help people with their daily needs so they can live safely and as independently as possible. Your work will include:
- Helping with personal care and toileting
- Giving medication
- Supporting people to go out into the community
- Keeping their homes clean and organised
- Cooking meals and supporting those who need help to eat
- Taking people to health appointments
- Spending time doing activities with them in their homes
- Supporting people with mobility needs, which may include using hoists or walking aids
You will follow care plans and risk assessments, write clear daily notes, and record any observations or concerns. You will also provide companionship and support people to stay in touch with their families.
This role is subject to pre-employment checks, which include an Enhanced DBS check and registration with the Update Service. The cost of the Update Service registration will be reimbursed.
Location: We have multiple services across Medway & Maidstone. All services are easily accessible via public transport and offer parking.
Hours: We offer a wide variety of bank shifts across the services. (This can be discussed at interview)
We are looking for someone who is caring, patient, and reliable. You should feel comfortable helping with personal care and everyday tasks like cooking and cleaning. Good communication is important, as you will be working with the people we support, their families, and the team. You need to be able to write simple and accurate notes and follow care plans and guidance. You should be able to use your initiative, especially when supporting people with activities. You must be able to work well with others but also feel confident working on your own. Experience in care is helpful, but it is not essential as training will be provided.
To keep the people we support safe, we follow safer recruitment steps. This includes DBS checks, reference checks and reviewing your work history.
