We’re looking for a passionate and confident Team Manager to lead one of our mental health supported living services in Maidstone. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives every single day. At Pippin Court, a modern service made up of self‑contained flats, you’ll oversee support for 11 adults with mental health needs. The team works closely with each person to help them live as independently as possible, stay well, and remain out of hospital – all in the safety and comfort of their own home.

As Team Manager, you’ll lead, inspire and develop a dedicated staff team, ensuring people receive high‑quality, person‑centred support. You’ll be hands‑on, approachable and supportive, while also making sure the service runs smoothly, meets its contracts, and delivers excellent standards of care.

As a Team Manager, You Will:

  • Support the Service Manager to keep the service running smoothly
  • Lead, coach, and support staff to deliver person‑centred, recovery‑focused support
  • Carry out staff supervisions, spot checks, and competency reviews
  • Make sure support plans and risk assessments are up to date and meaningful
  • Promote people’s rights, choices, and independence
  • Work with families, carers, health professionals, and other services (with consent)
  • Help people access community activities, education, work, and social opportunities
  • Ensure records are accurate and kept up to date using Nourish or similar systems
  • Support people to attend health appointments and follow medicines protocols
  • Help with recruitment, inductions, rotas, training, and absence management
  • Take part in the on‑call rota and respond to incidents or safeguarding concerns
  • Promote a kind, inclusive, and safe workplace culture

Hours: Full time 39 hours per week.

Location: This service is located in Maidstone.

About You:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in social care or mental health services
  • Experience supporting adults with mental health needs
  • A Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards it)
  • A Level 3 Diploma in Leadership & Management (or willingness to work towards it)
  • Good understanding of safeguarding, mental capacity, and quality standards
  • Confidence working with risk, crisis planning, and multi‑agency teams
  • Good communication and IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, care systems)
  • A caring, honest, and positive approach

Desirable (but Not Essential):

  • A full manual driving licence
  • Experience with trauma‑informed practice and de‑escalation
  • Knowledge of recovery‑focused and strengths‑based approaches
  • Experience supporting service improvement, audits, or action plans
