McCarthy Stone are recruiting a professional Relief Care Supervisor to join our team at the prestigious Barnhill Court development in Chipping Sodbury, Gloucestershire. The role supports the management and smooth running of a thriving community of active and independent older people, enabling residents to live their best lives in elegant private apartments within a beautiful setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Support management of the community and ensure its smooth running.
- Take responsibility for managing the security of the development, looking after the safety and wellbeing of the homeowners.
- Oversee the Care and Support teams and coordinate evening and night activities to strengthen community spirit.
- Provide emergency support during scheduled night shifts, staying at the development between 23:00 and 07:00.
- Work on an ‘as and when’ basis, covering day and night shifts to support the development manager’s needs.
Requirements
- Warm, friendly, organised, and self‑motivated with experience in a care or support environment.
- Excellent care skills and a desire to work in the health and social care sector.
- Preferably hold a QCF Health and Social Care (Adults) Level 3 qualification; other relevant qualifications and experience will be considered.
- Able to think on feet, lead by example, and pursue continual skill development.
Hours and Pay
Day shifts: 08:45–16:30 or 16:15–09:30. Night shifts: 21:30–09:00. Pay: £15.24 per hour for day shifts and £12.24 per hour for night shifts. An additional £1 per hour is earned for work from midnight Friday to midnight Sunday.
