We're looking for a Credit Controller to join a growing business where you'll play an important role across the finance function. This is a varied opportunity that combines credit control responsibilities with purchase ledger, giving you the chance to build strong relationships, take ownership of your workload and make a real impact on the day-to-day running of the business.

As a Credit Controller, you'll be trusted to manage your own workload, improve processes where you see opportunities and become a valued member of a supportive finance team.
What you'll be doing
- Credit Control
- Managing customer accounts and chasing outstanding payments by phone and email
- Monitoring aged debt and ensuring customers remain within agreed payment terms
- Building positive relationships with customers to resolve payment queries quickly
- Reviewing accounts, highlighting potential risks and escalating where appropriate
- Working closely with colleagues across the business to improve cash collection
- Purchase Ledger
- Processing high volumes of purchase invoices accurately and efficiently
- Matching, batching, coding and reconciling supplier invoices
- Resolving supplier queries and building strong working relationships
- Chasing approvals and ensuring invoices are processed in line with payment deadlines
- Supporting month-end activities and maintaining accurate financial records
- Supporting the Finance Team
- Assisting with reconciliations and month-end processes
- Looking for ways to improve existing processes and make the finance function more efficient
- Providing support across the wider finance team as required
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in a Credit Control, Purchase Ledger, Accounts Payable or wider finance role
- Ideally experience across both Credit Control and Purchase Ledger, although training can be provided for the right person
- A confident communicator who enjoys building relationships and isn't afraid to pick up the phone
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- A proactive approach with the confidence to investigate queries and improve processes
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
