As a Planning Consultant, you'll support and manage planning projects from initial feasibility through to determination, working closely with clients, Local Authorities and multidisciplinary teams. You'll gain exposure to a broad range of planning applications and development projects whilst building your expertise across waste, minerals and environmental planning. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their technical knowledge, stakeholder management skills and overall planning experience within a specialist consultancy environment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and manage planning applications from inception through to determination
- Produce Planning Statements and supporting planning documentation
- Liaise with Local Authorities, statutory consultees, clients and external stakeholders
- Support planning strategies and provide planning advice across a range of projects
- Coordinate input from specialist consultants including ecological, environmental, highways and landscape teams
- Monitor application progress and help drive projects through the planning process
- Build and maintain positive stakeholder relationships
- Keep up to date with planning policy and legislative changes
We're keen to speak with planners who have experience within consultancy, local authority, development, infrastructure, environmental, waste or minerals planning and are looking to take the next step in their career. You don't need to be operating at Senior or Principal level. What matters is having a solid understanding of planning, a proactive approach and the desire to continue developing your career.
We're Looking For- Previous planning experience
- Good understanding of the UK planning system
- Experience preparing or supporting planning applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines
- Waste, minerals or environmental planning experience would be highly advantageous
- RTPI qualified, working towards Chartership, or educated to degree level in a relevant discipline
- Full UK Driving Licence
