The Role
As a Minerals & Waste Planner, you'll support projects from initial feasibility through to planning determination. You'll work closely with clients, planning authorities, environmental consultants and technical specialists to deliver planning solutions across a varied portfolio of developments including:
- Quarrying and mineral extraction operations
- Land remediation and restoration projects
- Waste management and recycling facilities
- Environmental and infrastructure developments
- Strategic land-use projects
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of your work, broaden your technical expertise and build a long-term career within a specialist area of planning where demand for skilled professionals continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and managing planning applications from inception through to determination
- Producing Planning Statements and supporting documentation
- Liaising with Local Authorities, statutory consultees and key stakeholders
- Developing planning strategies and providing planning advice to clients
- Coordinating specialist inputs including ecology, highways, landscape and environmental disciplines
- Monitoring application progress and supporting projects through the planning process
- Building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Keeping up to date with planning policy and legislative changes
About You
We're keen to speak with candidates who already have experience within the minerals, waste, quarrying, environmental or land remediation sectors. You may currently be working within:

We're Looking For
- Experience supporting or preparing planning applications
- A good understanding of the UK planning system
- Previous exposure to minerals, waste, quarrying, landfill, remediation or environmental projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- RTPI qualified, working towards Chartership or keen to pursue professional development
- Full UK Driving Licence
