An established and growing multi-site business based in the Northwest is looking to recruit a commercially astute and hands-on Group Financial Controller to take full ownership of the finance function and play a key role in supporting strategic growth and operational performance. You’ll be responsible for leading the finance team, overseeing group reporting, and ensuring robust financial controls are in place across multiple business units. You’ll also work closely with the senior leadership team to provide insight, challenge, and support business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:- Leading the group finance function, managing and developing a high-performing team
- Producing accurate and timely monthly management accounts and board-level reporting
- Overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Driving cashflow management, working capital optimisation, and financial controls
- Ensuring compliance with statutory reporting, audit requirements, and relevant regulations
- Partnering with operational teams to improve financial performance and profitability
- Identifying and implementing process improvements across finance systems and reporting
- Supporting business growth through commercial insight, analysis, and strategic input
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with strong technical expertise
- Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance leadership role
- Experience managing multi-site or group-level finance operations
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders
- Excellent leadership skills with a track record of developing finance teams
- High attention to detail with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
