We are recruiting for a Site Supervisor to support and coordinate the day-to-day operations of a busy quarry or heavy industrial site. This hands-on, leadership-driven role places you at the centre of daily operations, ensuring all activities are carried out safely, efficiently and to the highest compliance standards. Working as part of a small, experienced operational team, you will take responsibility for site discipline, maintenance standards, material movements and crew coordination. You will also step up and lead the site during manager absence, making this an excellent opportunity for a plant-competent operator or lead hand who is ready to progress into a supervisory position.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experienced plant or site operator from quarrying, aggregates, waste or heavy industrial environments
  • Competent on mobile plant (loading shovel, excavator, dozer etc.) – tickets desirable but not essential
  • Strong operational awareness with the confidence to spot issues early and not walk past problems
  • Proven ability to lead by example, give clear instructions and gain respect from plant crews
  • Strong understanding of health & safety, RAMS, risk assessments and safe systems of work
  • Calm, articulate and able to communicate with operatives, management, authorities and residents
  • Proactive, disciplined, and committed to high housekeeping and site standards
  • Ambitious and motivated by progression into management, training and development

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support daily site operations, ensuring safe and efficient workflows
  • Deliver toolbox talks, interventions and daily briefs to maintain a strong safety culture
  • Oversee material movements, machine utilisation and site productivity
  • Ensure all machines are fuelled, greased, maintained and kept in safe working order
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, including wheel washes, pumps and general site presentation
  • Order AdBlue, fuel and site consumables required for daily operation
  • Maintain accurate logs, checks, reports and compliance documentation
  • Communicate effectively between operatives, contractors, commercial teams and site management
  • Resolve issues proactively to prevent downtime or unnecessary cost
  • Step up to run the site during manager holidays/absence (1–4 weeks per year)
  • Liaise confidently with HSE, EA, local authorities, residents and stakeholders as required

What’s On Offer:

  • Permanent, full-time position
  • Leadership role with responsibility, autonomy and clear progression path
  • Opportunity to step into site management during periods of absence
  • Supportive leadership team and strong on-site culture
  • Training and development opportunities in compliance, safety and people management

If you’re a proactive, safety-focused operator with strong plant experience who is ready to take the next step into a leadership role, we’d love to hear from you.
