What You’ll Be Doing As Operations Manager, you’ll support the Depot Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring service excellence, safety, and efficiency across the board. Key Responsibilities: Lead and monitor the traffic dispatcher team and depot KPIs (Service, Safety, Profitability) Supervise daily shift operations and driver performance Ensure vehicle availability in collaboration with fleet management Manage, train, and develop team members Address underperformance and manage absences Plan for new work mobilisation and seasonal routing challenges Resolve routing and service issues, including customer visits Drive cost control and operational efficiency Uphold Health & Safety standards and procedures Act as Deputy to the Depot Manager when required  What We’re Looking For Essential Experience & Skills: Experience as a Transport Manager or in a similar role within logistics/services Strong people and Health & Safety management in a unionised environment Proven ability to meet service delivery KPIs and manage costs Familiarity with route planning software (e.g., Route Monkey, DPS LogiX) Understanding of Lean Management principlesDesirable: CPC qualification Knowledge of transport legislation and local geography Experience in the waste industry and relevant regulationWhat You’ll Receive Ongoing career development, training, and coaching 25 Days Holiday Plus Bank Holiday Ability to Buy and Sell up to 5 days Holidaus Competitive salary Generous pension scheme Retail, holiday, and travel discounts Life coverApply Now!
