What You'll Be Doing: As Planning Manager, you'll lead the planning function across a varied portfolio of projects, ensuring planning applications are delivered successfully while providing technical guidance and leadership to your team. Working closely with internal specialists, external consultants and Local Authorities, you'll help drive projects from concept through to approval while supporting the continued growth of the business.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead, coach and develop a team of planning professionals, creating a positive and high-performing culture.
- Planning Strategy: Manage planning projects across minerals, waste, environmental and land development sectors.
- Technical Oversight: Prepare, review and oversee planning applications, planning statements and supporting documentation.
- Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with Local Authorities, clients, consultants and key stakeholders.
- Project Coordination: Coordinate multidisciplinary technical input, including ecology, highways, environmental and EIA specialists.
- Continuous Improvement: Help strengthen and develop the company's in-house planning capability while driving improvements across the planning function.

Our Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience within planning, ideally across minerals, waste, environmental or infrastructure projects.
- Previous experience managing or mentoring planning professionals.
- Strong understanding of the UK planning system and planning application process.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Commercially aware with the ability to balance technical excellence and business objectives.
- A collaborative leader who enjoys developing people and building positive working relationships.
Requirements:
- RTPI or RICS qualification (or working towards chartered status).
- Demonstrable experience managing planning applications from inception through to determination.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
