Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and commercially aware Health & Safety Manager to take ownership of health and safety across a diverse, multi-site leisure and tourism portfolio. This is a highly visible role with real scope to influence how health and safety is delivered across the business.

You’ll work closely with senior leaders and site-based teams, combining strategic oversight with a hands-on, practical approach. This role would suit someone who enjoys balancing compliance with continuous improvement and culture change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic and operational delivery of health and safety across multiple sites
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve health and safety management systems
  • Create and maintain policies, procedures, and safe systems of work aligned with legislation and best practice
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on health, safety, wellbeing, and compliance matters
  • Carry out audits, inspections, and risk assessments to drive consistent standards
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring effective corrective actions are embedded
  • Produce clear and meaningful reports on performance, trends, and improvement opportunities
  • Act as the main point of contact with enforcing authorities, including the Health and Safety Executive
  • Support and deliver health and safety training across the organisation
  • Lead, influence, and mentor others to strengthen engagement and accountability
  • Travel regularly to business locations as part of the role

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Health & Safety Manager within a multi-site or multifaceted organisation
  • Background in environments such as property, retail, leisure, tourism, or visitor attractions (desirable)
  • Strong working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practice
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (essential); NEBOSH Diploma (desirable)
  • Experience working with health and safety management systems (ISO 45001 preferred)
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Organised, proactive, and solutions-focused
  • Full UK driving licence (company pool vehicles available)
