Class 2 Driver / Site Operative

Salary: £14.50 – £15.50 per hour

OVERVIEW
We’re recruiting for a Class 2 Driver / Site Operative to join a busy industrial operation in Lancashire. This is a varied, hands-on role that would suit someone with a Class 2 licence who wants something different from traditional delivery driving. You’ll be working entirely on-site, operating vehicles and equipment, supporting the day-to-day running of the operation and helping to ensure the site remains clean, safe and well maintained. You don’t need previous experience within this type of environment. Full training will be provided, so we’re looking for someone reliable, practical and willing to learn.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Holds a Class 2 / Category C licence – essential
- Confident operating larger vehicles
- Practical, hands-on and comfortable working outdoors
- Good awareness of Health & Safety
- Reliable and proactive
- Happy working independently and as part of a team
- Willing to learn how to operate additional site equipment
- Previous industrial, waste, construction, quarry or plant experience would be beneficial but isn't essential
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate vehicles and equipment around the site
- Carry out daily vehicle and equipment checks
- Help maintain internal roads and operational areas
- Complete routine site inspections
- Support environmental and dust-control measures
- Identify and report defects, hazards or maintenance issues
- Assist with general site cleaning and maintenance
- Provide additional operational support when required
- Follow all site Health & Safety procedures
