We are recruiting for a Senior Operations Manager to join a highly successful, privately owned business operating one of the largest and most complex sites within its sector.

This Senior Operations Manager opportunity offers responsibility for a substantial operational area generating circa £30 million in annual revenue and leading a team of approximately 50-60 colleagues through a team of supervisors. The Senior Operations Manager will oversee a fast-paced operation combining the pace of large-format retail with the complexity of a depot and distribution environment. The role is responsible for customer flow, stock availability, yard operations, materials handling, vehicle movements and team performance within a high-volume trading environment.

This is not a sales-driven role. The successful Senior Operations Manager will focus on operational excellence, maintaining high standards, developing teams, improving productivity and ensuring customers receive an exceptional experience. The business offers genuine autonomy and would suit an ambitious Senior Operations Manager, Operations Manager, Branch Manager or Distribution Manager looking to take on greater scale and responsibility.

  • Experience leading large teams within a high-volume retail, depot, wholesale, logistics or distribution environment

Senior Operations Manager Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop and motivate a team of approximately 50-60 colleagues
  • Manage through supervisors to drive operational performance and accountability

  • Allocate resources effectively to meet changing operational demands
  • Lead performance management, coaching and team development
