EXPERIENCED STORE MANAGER WANTED FOR ONE OF THE UK’S TOP PERFORMING TRADE BRANCHES
If you’re a commercially astute, people‑focused leader looking to take on a flagship operation with real scale and profile, this is an outstanding opportunity. This role will see you take full ownership of one of the top three performing stores in the country, within a market‑leading trade business. You’ll inherit a strong, established team and a loyal customer base, with the remit to further drive performance, standards and culture. This is a fast‑paced, hands‑on leadership role where customer experience, commercial performance and team engagement are at the heart of everything you do.
THE ROLE
As Branch Manager, you will have full accountability for the performance and operation of the branch, working closely with central support teams while retaining strong local autonomy. Key to success will be your ability to balance commercial decision‑making, people leadership and exceptional customer service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own and deliver sales, profit and margin targets through strong commercial leadership
- Analyse local market and competitor activity to shape effective trading and sales plans
- Drive sales growth through local initiatives and strong customer relationships
- Lead, motivate and develop a large, diverse team to perform at their best
- Coach and performance‑manage colleagues, setting clear goals and expectations
- Inspire a service‑led culture where customers come first in every decision
- Act as a visible leader on the shop floor, setting standards through example
- Maintain exceptional operational standards, ensuring the branch is “best in class”
- Take full accountability for Health & Safety, compliance and safe working practices
- Manage store security, opening and closing procedures, cash handling and key‑holding duties
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Proven experience as a Store Manager / Branch Manager / Senior Retail Manager in a high‑turnover environment
- A confident, engaging leader with a genuine passion for customer service
- Commercially minded, with a strong understanding of P&L, margins and performance metrics
- An excellent communicator who can lead, influence and develop teams at all levels
- Hands‑on, resilient and comfortable operating in a demanding, fast‑paced setting
- Proactive, solution‑focused and able to make sound decisions under pressure
