Role: Permanent | Full-Time

Ambitious, driven and ready to make your mark in SHEQ? We’re looking for someone who brings more than just technical knowledge. Someone who’s motivated, enjoys working with people, isn’t afraid to challenge the way things are done and wants to continue developing their career. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established and growing business where you’ll have the freedom to make a real difference, work closely with senior leadership and play an important part in shaping the future of SHEQ across multiple sites. Whether you’re an experienced SHEQ Manager looking for a fresh challenge or a Senior SHEQ Advisor ready to take that next step, we’d love to hear from you.

The Role

As SHEQ Manager, you’ll take a hands‑on approach to supporting and improving safety, health, environmental and quality standards across the business. You’ll be working closely with Directors, Site Managers and operational teams, building strong relationships, understanding how each site operates and identifying opportunities to make things better. This isn’t about sitting behind a desk telling people what they can and can’t do. It’s about being visible, getting involved, asking questions and working collaboratively to find solutions that genuinely work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working closely with senior leadership and operational teams to continuously improve SHEQ standards
  • Building strong relationships with Site Managers and encouraging a positive, proactive safety culture
  • Carrying out site inspections, audits and risk assessments, identifying areas for improvement
  • Supporting the development and implementation of SHEQ policies, procedures and safe systems of work
  • Supporting the development, implementation and continuous improvement of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
  • Conducting internal audits, identifying areas for improvement and working collaboratively with operational teams to maintain compliance
  • Investigating incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures
  • Providing practical advice, coaching and guidance to employees at all levels
  • Supporting environmental compliance, quality standards and relevant legislation
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, reduce risk and strengthen operational performance
  • Encouraging collaboration and shared responsibility for SHEQ across the business

About You

We’re not looking for someone who ticks every box on paper. We’re looking for someone with the right attitude, ambition and approach. You’ll ideally bring:

  • Previous experience within a Health & Safety, SHEQ, HSEQ or similar role
  • A driven, ambitious personality with a genuine desire to learn, develop and progress
  • Confidence working with senior leaders, Site Managers and frontline operational teams
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence, challenge and build relationships
  • A proactive, hands‑on approach with the confidence to take ownership
  • Experience working with relevant ISO management systems, ideally ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety)
  • An understanding of internal auditing, compliance and continuous improvement, with a willingness to develop knowledge across all three standards
  • The ability to think independently, solve problems and bring new ideas to the table
  • A collaborative mindset, understanding that the best results come from working together
  • Ideally, a NEBOSH qualification or equivalent relevant experience

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who wants to get involved, take responsibility and continue growing professionally.

Why Join?

  • Competitive package: Up to £55,000 per annum plus a company car
  • Career development: An opportunity to continue learning, develop your skills and grow your responsibilities
  • Autonomy: The freedom to bring ideas forward and make a genuine impact
  • Senior leadership exposure: Work closely with decision‑makers who value your contribution
  • Variety: A multi‑site position where no two days are the same
  • Collaboration: Become an important part of the operational team, rather than working separately from it
  • Opportunity to influence: Help shape and develop the business’s approach to SHEQ
  • Growing business: Join an organisation with ambitions for the future
