What Youll Be Doing
As Operations Manager, youll support the Depot Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring service excellence, safety, and efficiency across the board.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and monitor the traffic dispatcher team and depot KPIs (Service, Safety, Profitability)
• Supervise daily shift operations and driver performance
• Ensure vehicle availability in collaboration with fleet management
• Manage, train, and develop team members
• Address underperformance and manage absences
• Plan for new work mobilisation and seasonal routing challenges
• Resolve routing and service issues, including customer visits
• Drive cost control and operational efficiency
• Uphold Health & Safety standards and procedures
• Act as Deputy to the Depot Manager when required

What Were Looking For

Essential Experience & Skills:

• Experience as a Transport Manager or in a similar role within logistics/services
• Strong people and Health & Safety management in a unionised environment
• Proven ability to meet service delivery KPIs and manage costs
• Familiarity with route planning software (e.g., Route Monkey, DPS LogiX)
• Understanding of Lean Management principles

Desirable:

• CPC qualification
• Knowledge of transport legislation and local geography
• Experience in the waste industry and relevant regulation
