About the Role

McCarthy & Stone are recruiting a professional Care Supervisor to join the team at The Pottery development in Clevedon, Somerset. This role supports the management and smooth running of a thriving community of active and independent older people living in elegant private apartments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the security of the development, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the homeowners.
  • Oversee the Care and Support teams.
  • Co‑ordinate and facilitate activities that strengthen community spirit within the development.
  • Provide emergency support to homeowners during night shifts.
  • Lead by example, think on your feet and drive continuous improvement of care standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a care or support environment with strong care skills.
  • QCF Health and Social Care (Adults) Level 3 qualification preferred; alternative qualifications and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Self‑motivated, warm, friendly and highly organised.

Hours & Pay

  • 33.5 hours per week, comprising day shifts (08:45–16:30 or 16:15–09:30) and night shifts (21:30–09:00).
  • Hourly rate: £15.75 for day shifts, £12.24 for sleep‑in night shifts, with an additional £1 per hour for hours worked from midnight Friday to midnight Sunday.
