Job Description
Looking for a challenging and rewarding leadership role in a globally recognised advertising agency? Look no further … We are McCann Central, the UK’s largest integrated agency. Over 500 individuals working together to help brands play a meaningful role in people’s lives. We are also part of McCann Worldgroup, a global agency network that delivers culture-shaping work for some of the world’s biggest brands. And to add to the (literal) wheelbarrow full of awards we’ve got including Euro Effies most effective global agency, Cannes Network of the Year, Campaign’s European Integrated Agency of the Year, not to mention McCann Central’s haul of awards in recent years at Cannes Lions, Clios, One Show, D&AD, LIAs, Golden Drum & Creative Circle Awards. So creativity really is at the forefront of everything we do. We’re a team of passionate creatives, strategists and marketers from a wide mix of backgrounds. But there’s a lot that unites us – like caring deeply about everything we make. And though our skillsets are wide, and our process knowledge is deep, we are all still learning every day. The Role As our new Project Director, you’ll have the opportunity to lead our team to even greater heights, with responsibility for directing our project management team to ensure that we deliver an exceptional client experience, delivering best-in-class multi-channel campaigns on time and on budget. You’ll be a solutions-focused problem solver who can collaborate effectively with other teams to achieve great results. You’ll be committed to delivering fantastic service and spotting opportunities to improve our ways of working, making us even more efficient and effective. The Project Director is the lynchpin of our agency, working collaboratively with strategy, client services and creative teams from initial brief to campaign delivery. A confident and effective communicator who enjoys building strong working relationships with clients and colleagues, and with our hybrid working model, there’s the flexibility to split your time between the office and home or wherever you’re most effective. To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have key role requirements:
- Demonstrate experience in delivering complex integrated marketing projects.
- Experience leading a variety of complex marketing projects across multiple comms channels, preferably in a fast-paced agency environment.
- Clear ability to develop robust project timing plans in multiple platforms.
- Experience in successfully managing and balancing the requirements of multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to assess project risk on an ongoing basis, escalating issues as needed.
- Experience having adapted a delivery process around client needs.
- Always looking ahead. Working closely with the Head of Project Leadership on new ways of working to constantly improve the way the agency delivers for its clients.
- Strong organisation skills; responsive to colleagues for overall efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ability to achieve results under challenging circumstances.
- Ability to make commercial and financial decisions, quickly understand problems and propose solutions.
- Ability to scope/forecast resource requirements across departments and assist Resource Management.
- Demonstrate experience in leading and delivering pitches – including global client experience.
- Excellent people management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop team members and build strong relationships.
- Work closely with the Head of Traffic to ensure the correct resource is being allocated to projects.
- Experience in working in the leadership team in reviewing the utilisation and efficiencies across the business as well as playing a key role in challenging and adapting existing or new ways of working.
And most importantly, you’ll also need to be a team player willing to roll up your sleeves and get stuck into the details when needed. No matter the level in our agency, when work needs delivering and our colleagues need help – we all jump in. If this sounds like the opportunity you’ve been waiting for and you have experience working in a multi-disciplined agency, we’d love to hear from you. Don’t miss out on the chance to join our team and help us deliver exceptional results for our clients. Benefits In addition to a competitive salary, we are committed to creating a brilliant environment for all our people. This includes benefits such as 28 days holiday, plus the opportunity to take additional fully paid leave, enhanced pension contributions, life assurance and much more. A culture of learning and development is also central to our ethos, so you’ll have access to industry leading training and development programmes, plus you’ll get to work closely with the world’s biggest media partners to access exclusive features and products. Most importantly, you’ll be part of a fun and collaborative team and you’ll work in an environment where you are supported and developed. Our commitment to equal opportunities For us, diversity is a business imperative – one that must be embedded into every aspect of how we operate in order to drive success. Simply put, we believe an encouraging and inclusive environment makes sound business sense. As a globally integrated community that influences and shapes culture, it’s vital that the talent mix in our agencies encompasses all dimensions of diversity, and that we demand the same of the people we work with. Conscious inclusion encompasses social, cultural and cognitive differences and cultivates an ethos of belonging, connection and shared purpose. It is the integration of this philosophy that allows us to create meaningful experiences for our employees, drive better business practices with our vendors and clients, and ultimately lead with purpose.
