Mid-weight Medical Copywriter

McCann Health London is seeking a talented Midweight Medical Copywriter to create compelling, scientifically accurate promotional content across a range of healthcare accounts. You’ll take ownership of brand messaging, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain scientific integrity and attention to detail in all outputs.

You’ll also mentor junior writers, contribute to new business pitches, and be a trusted voice on scientific communication and exceptional copywriting.

What we’re looking for:

Knowledge & Expertise:

  • Proven excellence in medical copywriting
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior team members

Strategic & Client Skills:

  • Experience developing communication strategies and multi-channel content
  • Confident presenting to clients and addressing MLR queries

Business Development:

  • Active contributor to new business pitches and organic growth opportunities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-quality promotional copy aligned with client briefs
  • Ensure content meets ABPI and regulatory standards
  • Translate complex scientific information into clear, engaging messages
  • Work across formats – from sales aids and websites to videos and patient materials
  • Confidently present and defend work in client meetings
  • Review and support work from junior writers
  • Proficient with Veeva, FUSE, and Proof
