ABOUT THE ROLE: Whilst working as part of a team within the Flake and Packing department, the Flake Packing/Bagger Operator ensures the processed flake is packed to company standard, maintaining quality, hygiene, maximum production and safety standard at all times.

Key tasks of the role include, but are not limited to:

• Filling bags with product to the correct weight, maintaining machine output, sealing each bag, dating and labelling goods, stamping and check weighing each bag.
• Obtaining packing materials and processing chemicals from stores as required.
• Shrink wrapping palletised load and loading bags using hand or fork lift truck onto containers, recording hourly production figures and maintaining a running total.
• Checking loads are as order specifies.
• Completing periodic bag weight checks on each pallet.
• Reporting any faults or malfunctions to the Senior Operative or Area Shift Manager.
• Assisting with departmental shutdown, cleaning procedures and start up procedures.
• Emptying dust extractor bins as required.
• Ensuring that where appropriate all company documentation and procedures are followed and executed in the correct manner to company requirements.
• Making sure appropriate daily and weekly cleaning is carried out, to AIB Gold Standard and ensures that hygiene, Health and Safety and Food Safety standards are met.
• Assisting with the training of any new operators as required.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR… The ideal candidate will be someone with experience of working in a similar role within a food manufacturing environment, with attention to detail and knowledge of correct manual handling techniques.

WHAT HOURS WILL I WORK? The shift pattern is 2 days 7am-7pm, 1 day off, 2 nights 7pm-7am followed by 3 days off.

WHERE YOU’LL WORK? You'll be based at our Whittlesey plant in Peterborough. If you’ve spotted our three wind turbines, then you’ll know where we are! With about 350 employees on site, we’re one of our largest plants across the GB business. Our Whittlesey plant is where we make our famous French Fries as well as our chilled products, such as our Shake Shake Fries.
