In this role, you’ll work closely with the Business Controller, supporting Supply Chain, GB&I and EMENA teams to push financial performance across the business. From deep-dive data analysis to KPI tracking and sharp financial insights, you’ll be at the heart of decisions that drive cost efficiency, productivity and operational performance.
What you’ll be doing
- Month-End Close & Operational P&L Support – own journal entries, accruals and variance commentary; ensure books are closed on time and in line with corporate deadlines and internal control requirements.
- Financial Analysis & Reporting – produce monthly management reports (P&L views, cost trends, KPIs) and perform variance and trend analysis versus budget, forecast and prior year; ensure data quality across ERP and reporting tools.
- KPI & Performance Management – own and continuously improve operational KPI dashboards (cost per unit, labour productivity, scrap costs, overtime and utilization); provide updates to leadership and analyse root causes of performance gaps.
- Budgeting & Forecasting Support – assist with the full annual budget and forecasting cycle; consolidate inputs, build bridge analyses and ensure alignment with central Finance; identify risks and opportunities.
- Business Partnering & Decision Support – collaborate with Business Partners and the Finance Director; model financial impacts of changes (shift patterns, headcount, production) to inform leadership reviews.
- Tools, Data & Process Improvement – serve as a go-to for finance reporting tools and templates; pursue improvements in automation, dashboards and BI adoption.
- Governance & Compliance – ensure outputs align with group policies and internal control requirements; contribute to a strong controls environment within Operations Finance.
What you’ll need to be successful
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Maths or a related field.
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in a finance role, ideally with exposure to operations or manufacturing finance, FP&A, financial control or month-end close.
- Experience in a multinational or multi-site environment is a plus.
- Background in the food industry is welcome but not essential.
- Technical toolkit:
- Solid understanding of month-end close processes, including accruals, variance analysis and cost allocation.
- Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, lookups; financial modelling is a plus).
- Exposure to Power BI or similar BI tools is beneficial.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly SAP, is preferred.
- Comfortable working with large data sets and turning raw numbers into clear outputs.
