The Maintenance Technical Trainer is responsible for providing an elevated level of technical resource for site equipment covering both electrical and mechanical disciplines. The role involves taking OEM and technical training, developing it into training packages for engineering team members, and leading fault finding and diagnostic package development for the team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Improving and promoting safety across the site, operating in accordance with company Health, Safety and Quality standards and processes.
  • Ensuring the smooth running of the plant and machinery.
  • Monitoring electrical and mechanical systems performance.
  • Attending OEM and technical training, taking learnings and developing training packages for the electrical and mechanical engineers.
  • Taking the technical lead in fault finding and developing step‑by‑step logic packages for engineers to follow.
  • Identifying and communicating improvements to machines and processes to increase overall equipment effectiveness, in line with company quality and safety standards.
  • Identifying and procuring critical plant spares.
  • Managing and supervising contractors and subcontract labour.
  • Helping to identify, create and maintain PPM work schedules.
  • Recording all engineering work accurately on SAP work orders and notifications.
  • Identifying training needs and developing training packages for the electrical and mechanical engineers.
  • Working to set individual and departmental KPIs set in annual and three‑month performance reviews at McCain.
  • Supporting and covering for the engineering supervisors to achieve departmental goals.

Experience:

  • Craft Apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical engineering (essential).
