About The Role.
Are you passionate about food safety, hygiene, and raising the bar in manufacturing? We’re looking for a driven Food Safety Officer to join us on a 6 months FTC to take the lead in creating a culture of excellence at our site.
What You’ll Do
  • Taking ownership of hygiene and fabrication standards across the plant, challenging teams to raise the food safety bar
  • Managing all site hygiene activities, ensuring standards are sky-high and bang on schedule
  • Working with our chemical provider to keep systems sharp and compliant
  • Bringing standards to life across site, with coaching and mentoring for everyone from operators to contractors
  • Running internal audits, analysing trends, and leading root cause investigations
  • Leading pest control management and driving proactive improvements
  • Developing and delivering training, building confidence and capability across the site
  • Owning the HACCP plan and taking the lead on all things food safety - especially when auditors or customers are onsite

Essentials
What we’re looking for.
Experience in a similar role, with strong technical knowledge of food safety, quality, and hygiene standards
Solid understanding of BRC, HACCP, customer and legal requirements
Auditing experience and confidence facing external auditors
A sharp eye for hygiene standards and what ‘good’ really looks like
Confidence to work independently, while being a supportive and proactive team player
A natural collaborator and influencer – able to engage and drive change across all levels
A continuous improvement mindset, always looking for a better way
Resilience and flexibility – able to prioritise, flow to the work and adapt to what the business needs
Willingness to challenge the norm to drive improvements in Quality & Food Safety
Ability to lead by example and drive standards forward at every level
Location.
You’ll be based at our Wombourne plant in Staffordshire. And together our small, but perfectly formed team of over 110 colleagues produce our famous (and well loved) potato Smiles as well as our pre-baked Jacket Spuds.
