Responsibilities

  • Operating the blue prints and shaker units, ensuring the units are running efficiently.
  • Adjusting the size of the case shaker as appropriate and initiate reel and blade changes and clear any blockages.
  • Controlling and maintaining the efficient running of the checkweighers, flap detectors and ink jet coders.
  • Ensuring the correct date code is on the cases and that it is correctly positioned and legible.
  • Completing all associated paperwork and ensuring that Company policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Reporting all damage; signs of wear and tear and decoder issues to the Packing Senior Operative/Front Line Manager, QA or Engineering Department.
  • Actively participating in continuous improvement activities and follow a ‘clean as you go’ policy including clearing the weight reject bin.
  • Assisting with the training of new operators as and when necessary.

Hours

The shift pattern is 2 days 7am-7pm, 1 day off, 2 nights 7pm-7am followed by 3 days off.

Location

You’ll be based at our Whittlesey plant in Peterborough. If you’ve spotted our three wind turbines, then you’ll know where we are! With about 350 employees on site, we’re one of our largest plants across the GB business. Our Whittlesey plant is where we make our famous French Fries as well as our chilled products, such as our Shake Shake Fries.
