ABOUT THE ROLE: The Maintenance Technical Trainer is responsible for providing an elevated level of technical resource for the site equipment covering both Electrical and Mechanical disciplines. They will take on board all OEM and technical training and develop this into packages to train out to engineering team members, and will be the technical lead in fault finding and developing diagnosis packages for team members to follow.
Key tasks of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Improving and promoting safety across the site, operating in accordance with Company Health, Safety and Quality standards and processes.
- Ensuring the smooth running of the plant and machinery.
- Monitoring Electrical and Mechanical systems performance.
- Attending OEM and technical training, taking learnings and developing training packages for the Electrical and Mechanical engineers.
- Taking the technical lead in fault finding and developing fault finding step by step logic packages for engineers to follow.
- Identifying and communicating improvements to machines and processes to increase overall equipment effectiveness, in line with Company Quality and Safety standards.
- Identifying and procuring critical plant spares.
- Managing and supervising contractors and subcontract labour.
- Helping to identify, create and maintain PPM work schedules.
- Recording all engineering work accurately on SAP work orders and notifications.
- Identifying training needs and developing training packages for the Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.
- Working to set individual and departmental KPIs set in annual and 3 monthly Performance at McCain reviews.
- Supporting and covering for the Engineering Supervisors to achieve departmental goals.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- Experience Craft Apprenticeship in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering (essential)
- City & Guilds Electrical / Mechanical Level 4 (essential)
- At least 5 years working in a maintenance/engineering department (desirable)
- Knowledge of Health & Safety / Food Safety Best Practice (desirable)
- Quality Assurance Systems and Standards (desirable)
Skills:
- Strong fault finding and diagnostic capabilities (essential)
- Understanding of PLC and SCADA systems would be beneficial (desirable)
WHAT HOURS WILL I WORK? The shift pattern is: 2 days on, 2 days off; 2 nights on, 3 days off; 3 days on, 1 day off; 2 nights on, 4 days off; 2 days on, 1 day off; 3 nights on, 3 days off.
WHERE YOU'LL WORK? You'll be based at our Wombourne plant in Staffordshire. Together, our small but perfectly formed team of over 110 colleagues produce our famous (and well-loved) potato Smiles as well as our pre-baked Jacket Spuds.
